Procedures For Filing an Application to Become an Apprentice
 

For Carpenter, Acoustical Installer, Hardwood Floor Layer, Insulator, Scaffold Erector, and Shingler Apprentices

Northern 46 California Counties.

Open Enrollment:
Applications may be submitted year round.

Minimum Qualifacations:
Applicants MUST be a minimum of 17/ 18 years of age (17 years old will have parent or guardian sign their agreements.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or Verified 6 months full time work experience in a construction related trade, or Graduated from an approved pre-apprenticeship program.

An applicant SHOULD posses a valid Drivers License.

An applicant SHOULD have Reliable Transportation.

An applicant SHOULD have a minimum of 8th Grade Math Skills.

Application Procedures:
Applications may be printed online or picked up at any Carpenters Local Union Office, Apprentice Training Center or Employment Development Department in your area.

Applications may be submitted, in person, at the District Office/ Training Center Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Applicants can mail their applications anytime. Upon receipt of a properly completed application, it will be entered into the Applicant Referral List in Numeric Sequence. Applications will be entered in the order they are received in person and alphabetized when received by mail.

A confirmation letter will be given or sent to the applicant. This letter will serve as verification that the application has been entered into our system.
