CSSS Program Overview

Designed for our union brothers and sisters, this course equips participants with the knowledge, leadership skills, and hands-on training needed to lead safety efforts on today’s demanding job sites. You'll gain the tools to recognize and control hazards, apply current safety regulations, and protect your crew with confidence.
Who Should Attend
This program is ideal for Union Journeymen with a minimum of 5 years of construction experience who are ready to take the next step into leadership roles focused on job site safety.
Prerequisites
To receive a CSSS Certificate Member must complete the follwing UBC Courses:
- First Aid / CPR / AED
- Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP)
- Confined Space
- Construction Fall Protection
- Hazard Communication & Chemical Safety
- OSHA 30
- Scaffold Erector
- Silica Awareness
- Construction Site Safety Management & Leadership
- Ergonomics
- Forklift: Industrial & Rough Terrain
Certification Preparation
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be well-prepared to pursue the following nationally recognized credentials:
- Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC)
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
These certifications demonstrate your expertise in construction site safety and position you as a leader among your peers.
